This afternoon at 2:52 AM, Environment Canada has issued a second Freezing Rain Warning for Oakville, Ontario expected for Sunday, February 12, 2017.

A north-east wind will be bringing in colder air this evening, creating a windchill which will make it feel like minus 5 to minus 7. The temperature is expected to drop to minus one at 2:00 AM and at 3:00 AM there is a moderate chance of snow and ice rain. There will be a high chance of freezing rain from 6:00 AM to 7:00 AM and will then snow is expected to fall through out the rest of the day.

The likelihood is that closer to the lake we will not see freezing rain, but as you go further north in Oakville freezing rain is more likely. The town of Oakville has been doing an excellent job keeping our roads safe, so with that thought in mind, you might want to keep off the roads early on Sunday morning.

Have a safe Sunday!

Here is Environment Canada's Weather Warning:

A period of freezing rain is possible beginning early Sunday morning.

A developing low pressure system is expected to bring rain and possibly some freezing rain to portions of southwestern Ontario. The precipitation is expected to start after midnight and should persist Sunday morning before changing over to snow Sunday afternoon.

Current information suggests the most likely probability for several hours of freezing rain will be over the areas of Woodstock Brantford and Kitchener-Waterloo. Untreated roads and sidewalks could become icy and slippery.
