Starting this week, voter notification cards will arrive in the mail of all eligible voters in Oakville. If you are an eligible voter and do not receive a card by the end of September, please call 905-815-6015, email [email protected], or visit the Clerk’s department at Town Hall, 1225 Trafalgar Road to ensure your name is on the voters’ list.

On the front of the voter card you will find a list of all locations in your ward where you can vote on voting day, October 27. New this year, you can vote at any one of the locations in your ward. On the back of the card, all the advance voting locations are listed. Advance voting runs from October 6 to 17.

Please take your voter card and proper identification with you to vote. Acceptable forms of identification include:

  • Driver’s licence
  • Ontario photo card
  • Ontario photo health card (must have address)
  • Current credit card or bank statement
  • Current insurance policy

To vote in the Oakville Municipal Election you must be a Canadian citizen; at least 18 years of age on voting day and a resident, owner or tenant of property in Oakville or the spouse of such owner or tenant.

All advance voting locations are physically accessible and will have accessible voting equipment. On October 27, Town Hall will be physically accessible, will have accessible voting equipment and will be open to all voters for accessible voting regardless of where you reside in the municipality.

If you are not able to vote on voting day or any of the advance voting days, please call the Clerk’s department to obtain information on proxy voting at 905-815-6015.
