Break-in Suspects Arrested Thanks to a Perceptive Neighbour

On April 17th 2018, break-in suspects were arrested after an observant Oakville resident reported a suspicious vehicle driving aimlessly in his residential neighbourhood which is located in the Lakeshore Woods Community of Oakville. As a result, the Halton Police were called to investigate the matter.

Police quickly located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop, which revealed the three male occupants were in possession of break and enter tools. Further investigation revealed the trio was responsible for a residential break and enter that occurred in Toronto on April 13th 2018.

Break-in Suspects Charged:

Nikolaz SALTKUTSISHVILI (30) of North York was charged with:

  1. Possession of Break-in Instruments
  2. Break and Enter
  3. Disguise with Intent
  4. Possession of a Controlled Substance

Anzori MEFARIDZE (28) of no fixed address was charged with:

  1. Possession of Break-in Instruments
  2. Break and Enter

Naomi SHENGELIA (39) of Richmond Hill was charged with:

  1. Possession of Break-in Instruments
  2. Break and Enter
  3. Fail to Comply with Bail Recognizance

All three break-in suspects were held in custody pending a bail hearing.

Superintendent Milinovich commented, "A focus on crime is a community safety and well-being priority for our service. For the second day in a row we have enjoyed the benefits of an informed resident willing to contribute to community safety by being engaged. It has been critical to our successes and continues to demonstrate the potential when police and residents work together to make our communities safer ."
