Celebrate Falgarwood Public School 50th Anniversary

Celebrate Falgarwood Public School 50th anniversary Tuesday, June 6, 2017. The anniversary will happen in tandem with the opening of an outdoor learning classroom and the school’s annual arts nigh. The event starts at 5:30 p.m.

At the start of the ceremony, the Falgarwood Public School will be transformed into an art gallery. There will be opportunities to participate in multicultural cooking demonstrations, try bucket drumming and line dancing, participate in outdoor family games, enjoy musical presentations from school bands and choir, and more.

The grand opening of the Outdoor Learning Classroom, to be attended by local city dignitaries and Halton District School Board staff including Director of Education Stuart Miller, is scheduled for 6.15 p.m.

There will be an opportunity for alumni to take a walk down memory lane as the school will be encouraging former staff and students to bring their memorabilia to display for the evening. Light refreshments and cake will be served. Opportunities to purchase a Memory Path brick or Falgarwood Public School 50th Anniversary T-shirts will be available and giveaways will mark the event.

“We are looking forward to seeing our community, past and present to help us celebrate 50 years of teaching and learning at Falgarwood,” said Sylvia Dodds, Principal at Falgarwood Public School.
