Collision on Royal Windsor Drive claims one life

At approximately 10:26am on Tuesday, January 2, 2018, the Halton Regional Police Service was notified of a three vehicle collision on Royal Windsor Drive east of Ford Drive in the Town of Oakville.

The initial investigation revealed that a sport utility vehicle travelling westbound on Royal Windsor Drive crossed the centre line and collided with an eastbound transport truck. The driver of the sport utility vehicle, a 47 year old Toronto man was pronounced dead at the scene. A third vehicle was struck as a result of the initial collision. It was forced off the roadway and struck a utility pole.

The Royal Windsor Drive was closed from Ford Drive to Winston Churchill Blvd for approximately 5 hours for investigation and extensive clean-up of wreckage and spilled diesel fuel.
