Community Energy Plan Task Force

Sheridan College along with the Town developed a community energy plan. This plan will continue to change as residents provide input, and new information emerges.

The inaugural meeting is Wednesday, January 23rd from 9:00 AM to noon. At this initial meeting residents learn about the current plan along with how it was development. It is also an opportunity to share your thoughts.

The task force meets regularly, and meetings are open to the public. Further information about meetings and how you become involved are available on the town's website: Oakville.ca.

Community Energy Plan Goals

The CEP guides the town, residents, and businesses implement best practices.

  • use energy more efficiently and reduce waste
  • reduce energy costs
  • reduce greenhouse gas emissions
  • create more opportunities which attract businesses and jobs
  • secure of our energy supply
  • enhance our resiliency to climate change

Currently the task force includes an enthusiastic group of leaders from local businesses, government, utilities, schools and community groups.
