Halton District School Board 2014-15 report cards for all non-graduating elementary students will be available for pick up at the elementary school students attended during the 2014-15 school year.

Trustees supported the Director of Education’s recommendation in June to allocate funds to create report cards for non-graduating students due to labour action by Ontario teachers. This labour action included not providing report card comments and not inputting student marks/achievement levels electronically.

Report cards for Senior Kindergarten to Grade 7 students were produced during the summer with subject grades/achievement levels and learning skills only (no comments), totalling approximately 900,000 mark entries. These will be made available for pick up from August 31- September 3, 2015 at the elementary school students attended during the 2014-15 school year. Report cards not picked up will be distributed to families when school resumes in September.

Report cards for students graduating from an elementary school were distributed in late June.

“We are very pleased that through the support of our Trustees and the participation of central Board staff elementary students will receive a record of their achievements and have the opportunity to use this information to set goals for improvement,” says Rob Eatough, Superintendent of Education for the Halton District School Board. “This process speaks to the Board’s commitment that all students and families be treated in an equitable manner.”
