The Hon. Gary Goodyear, Minister of State for the Federal Economic Development Agency in Ontario will be in Oakville on Oct. 4 to speak about the agency’s role in Halton and highlight local partnerships  at a breakfast hosted by the Oakville Chamber of Commerce.

“Our members and others in the Oakville business community are eager to hear FedDev Ontario’s plans for jobs, growth and long-term prosperity in our region,” says Chamber Chair Orla Johnston.

The Government of Canada’s objective is to create jobs and growth in Southern Ontario through renewed funding for FedDev Ontario at $920 million over five years, including $200 million for a new Advanced Manufacturing Fund, starting April 1, 2014.

Gary Goodyear was first elected to the House of Commons in 2004 and re-elected in 2006, 2008 and 2011. In July 2013, Mr. Goodyear was re-appointed Minister of State (Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario.) He was previously appointed Minister of State (Science and Technology).

Tickets are available by visiting the chamber website at www.oakvillechamber.com or emailing[email protected].  Ticket prices are $25 for members and $35 for non-members.  The event will be held at the Holiday Inn Oakville Centre, 590 Argus Rd., Oakville. Tables of eight are available.  All prices are subject to HST.   The event begins at 7:30 am with registration and the keynote speech begins at 8 am. Members of the public are invited to attend.
