Environment Canada has issued its first heat alert for Friday July 5, 2019. They expect it to end by late Saturday night. The weather statement was issued at 4:56 AM.

Friday starts off at 24 but will feel like 31. The sun will be shining. By the afternoon the temperature continues to increase to 30 and feel like 40. As the day goes on the risk of rain, thunder and lightning increases to 45 per cent.

During the evening the temperature drops down into 20's, but the humidity adds 7 degrees. As an example 25 degrees will feel like 32 degrees.

Saturday morning temperatures are expected to be in the low to mid-twenties. The humidity will add another 7 degrees. The chance of rain remains at 40 percent, with the potential of thunderstorms. The forecast for the day's high is in the high 20's. The evening temperatures do drop into the low 20's. It isn't until late night that the humidity is expected to to move out.
