Footprints in the Snow lead to Arrest at an Oakville Commercial Break and Enter Thieves

An observant citizen and a trail of footprints in the snow lead police to an investigation resulting in the arrest of two break and enter thieves.

On January 18th, 2014 at approximately 03:15 am, uniform patrol officers were flagged down by a concerned citizen who had observed two men walking between parked tractor trailers on a commercial property in the Bristol Circle industrial area in the Town of Oakville.

Officers were able to follow footprints in the snow, which led them to two males walking in the immediate area.

While the males were detained for further investigation, police revealed the security fence around the compound had been cut and several tractor trailers had been entered.

Both Accused were also involved in recent thefts of motor vehicles in the Town of Oakville in 2013.

Accused:

Manpreet SARAO (32) of Windsor is charged with Break and Enter, Mischief Under $5000, Theft Over $5000 x 2, Possession of Break and Enter Tools and Theft of Motor Vehicle x 3. In addition, SARAO has also been charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance.

Kuldip SOMAL (47) of Burlington is charged with Break and Enter, Mischief Under $5000, Theft Over $5000 x 2, Possession of Break and Enter Tools and Theft of Motor Vehicle x 3.

Both men are scheduled to appear in Milton Criminal Court on January 21st, 2014.
