Four Young Offenders charged for armed Robbery in River Oaks

On Friday, March 9th, 2018 at approximately 12:30am four young offenders entered the Circle K convenience store located 2530 Sixth Line, Oakville. The intersection is at Glen Ashton.  A lone clerk was working at the time and was forced behind the counter at gunpoint by one of the males. All four young offenders had their faces covered and were wearing gloves throughout the incident.

The males proceeded to remove cash, cigarettes, cigars and lottery tickets from the store before fleeing​​. The store clerk was not harmed during the incident.

At approximately 1:45am, uniform officers operating in a plain clothes capacity observed a suspicious vehicle operating in the area of Neyagawa Boulevard and Dundas Street in the Town of Oakville. The vehicle pulled into a plaza, parking across several parking spots.

Three individuals were observed walking out from behind a building and towards the vehicle. The officers identified themselves as Police and the three parties fled. A short foot pursuit ensued, with two being taken into custody almost immediately with the third being arrested hiding in bushes behind the plaza. The three were in possession of several items believed to have been stolen from the Circle K. The driver remained with the vehicle and was arrested, but was released later in the day after investigators confirmed they had no involvement in the robbery.

A short time later, Tactical officers in the area assisting with the incident, observed a male matching the description of the fourth outstanding suspect attempting to get into a taxi in a nearby plaza. The male was arrested without incident.

A sixteen year old male from Mississauga who cannot be identified due to his age, was held for bail and charged with:

  1. Robbery with firearm
  2. Point Firearm
  3. Wear a disguise
  4. Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  5. Possession of Property obtained by crime

A seventeen year old from Mississauga who cannot be identified due to his age, was held for bail and charged with:

  1. Robbery with firearm
  2. Point firearm
  3. Wear a disguise
  4. Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  5. Possession of property obtain by crime

A sixteen year old from Mississauga who cannot be identified due to his age, was held for bail and charged with:

  1. Robbery with firearm
  2. Point firearm
  3. Wear a disguise
  4. Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  5. Possession of property obtained by crime
  6. Three (3) counts of Failing to comply with a Recognizance

A sixteen year old from Mississauga who cannot be identified due to his age, was held for bail and charged with:

  1. Robbery with a firearm
  2. Point firearm
  3. Wear a disguise
  4. Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  5. Possession of property obtained by crime
  6. Fail to comply with an Undertaking
