The Halton Catholic District School Board will host a variety of information sessions, providing parents and students with opportunities to explore the programs and educational pathways available to students who will start secondary school in September, 2016.
Grade 8 Parent Information Evenings
Grade 8 Parent Information Evenings are intended to ease the transition to secondary school for students entering Grade 9 in September, 2016. These information sessions offer an overview of the Grade 9 program, and provide an opportunity for Grade 8 students and their parents and guardians to meet staff and tour the school.

Pathways Information
There are many Pathways programs available to Halton Catholic Secondary students within the Halton region. At the Grade 8 Parent Information Evenings, parents will be provided with information to assist them in planning their child’s educational pathway leading to one of the four destinations: College, Work, Apprenticeship or University. Grade 7–12 students and their parents are encouraged to learn more about the Pathways programs, as well as the many regional programs available to our students including: Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP), Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM), Dual Credits, Specialty Programs and Cooperative Learning Opportunities. International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme Information Evening
St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Secondary School will host an IB Information Evening on Thursday, October 22, 2015, beginning at 7:00 p.m. All Grade 7 and 8 students and their parents interested in learning more about the IB Programme are welcome to attend. Staff will be available to provide information about the registration process, and to answer any questions parents or students may have.

Advanced Placement (AP) Information Evening
Parents and students in Grades 7-9 who are interested in learning more about the AP Program and application process are encouraged to attend one of the following information sessions:
- Bishop P.F. Reding Catholic Secondary School on Monday, October 26, 2015 at 7:00 p.m.
- Assumption Catholic Secondary School on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at 7:00 p.m.
