The Halton District School Board has authorized the posting of two policies to solicit public input before they come back to the Board for decision early in 2016. The policies outline processes for the Board’s Program and Accommodation Review and the Director’s Performance Review.

The Program and Accommodation Review (PAR) Policy identifies the steps in the process the Board would take if program and accommodation decisions require school closures, consolidation, construction, boundary changes or program relocation. Consultation is a significant part of this process, and the timelines and responsibilities in the decision-making process are outlined in the draft policy.

The draft PAR Policy will return to the Board with any feedback received, for trustees’ consideration in February 2016.

The Director’s Performance Review (DPR) Policy is the trustees’ process for its annual goal-setting and review of the Director of Education role. This policy has been available for public input on the Board’s website for the past few months, but has been revised to include procedural steps in the process, and as a result is offered for public input until it returns to the Board in January 2016.

To provide feedback on the Board’s Program and Accommodation Review Policy or the Board’s Director’s Performance Review Policy, visit www.hdsb.ca, and click ‘Boardroom and Trustees’. Follow the ‘Policies and Procedures Under Review’ link on the left side of the webpage. Input will be considered when the Board reviews the Director’s Performance Review Policy in January, and the Program and Accommodation Review Policy in February.
