This summer, Halton Region will once again offer support to student entrepreneurs between the ages of 15 and 29 through the Summer Company program. Summer Company is an Ontario Government initiative for youth entrepreneurship and employment that is coordinated locally through the Halton Region Small Business Centre. Successful applicants will receive hands-on business training and mentoring, and can receive up to $3,000 in funding to help start and run their own summer businesses.

Growing Halton's economy continues to be a top priority for Regional Council, and entrepreneurship plays a critical role in innovation and job creation. By enhancing our support through programs and services targeted at youth, we can continue to provide the next generation of entrepreneurs with the tools and guidance they need to help their business ideas come to life.

The deadline for submissions is Friday, May 8, 2015. Summer Company is a competitive program with limited spaces and students are encouraged to complete their application early. For a complete list of program requirements or to apply online, visit the Summer Company website at www.ontario.ca/summercompany. Assistance in completing the application, including preparing a business plan, is available through the Halton Region Small Business Centre.
