The Halton Catholic District School Board published today its system-wide and school results of the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT). The results indicate that Halton Catholic secondary students continue to surpass the province-wide results in the OSSLT.

The Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT) was conducted in the Spring of 2015 by the Education Quality and Accountability Office (EQAO).The OSSLT is based on the expectations for reading and writing across all core subjects in the Ontario Curriculum up to the end of Grade 9. Successful completion of the OSSLT is one of the requirements leading to an Ontario Secondary School Diploma.
Overall, the 2014-2015 OSSLT results indicate that 90% of the Board’s secondary school students who wrote the test for the first time successfully completed the assessment. The participation rate for first-time, fully participating students was 96%.

Holy Trinity: 88%
St. Ignatius of Loyola: 93%
St. Thomas Aquinas: 88%
