On Saturday, June 29 2019 at about 2:00 PM,  a motor vehicle collision occurred at Trafalgar Road and Leighland Avenue. As a reference point,  RioCan Oakville Place is located in the south-west corner of this very busy intersection. The Halton Regional Police attended the scene.

The collision involved two vehicles: a Volkswagen and a Dodge truck. It occurred within the intersection.

The driver of the northbound Volkswagen attempted a left turn onto Leighland Avenue and while doing so was struck by a Dodge truck travelling southbound on Trafalgar Road.  The only injury was to the front seat passenger in the Volkswagen.

The passenger was transported to a trauma centre with a suspected head injury.  Due to the nature of the injury, the Collision Reconstruction Unit attended the scene.

While the police were investigating the scene, they received information from the trauma centre. The injury sustained by the front seat passenger was less severe than originally believed.

Trafalgar Road and Leighland Avenue remained partly open during the investigation and both were fully reopened at about 5:50 PM on Sunday, June 29th.
