Since posting the article on the demolition of the former Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, there have been on outpouring of shared memories on Facebook. So in keeping with that spirit, I've found a wonderful way to share memories from the maternity ward.

Former Oakville Hospital Site’s Demolition Begins post.

On December 13, 2015, I had the opportunity to walk through the deserted former hospital located at Reynolds street and MacDonald in Old Oakville. It was an odd feeling walking around of what had become just a the shell of its former self, until I came across the memories from the maternity ward. These memories were written on the maternity ward walls by mother, fathers, nurses, doctors, custodians, and volunteers. They were heart warming.

I could not help but be nostalgic, since my son who is now 22 was also born at OTMH. The staff were caring, knowledgeable and thoughtful then, as they are today. So, as I came across message after message in the maternity ward, I started to take pictures to commemorate this old building, and the wonderful people who gave it heart.

I knew there would be a time to share these, and I believe that this moment is now.

Please enjoy the Memories from the Maternity Ward of the former Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital.
