Michele Romanow of CBC’S Dragon’s Den to Headline the Halton FUTURES Innovation Summit & Awards

Michele Romanow, co-Founder of Buytopia.ca and well-known entrepreneur on CBC’s Dragon’s Den season 10, is the opening speaker for the inaugural Halton FUTURES Innovation Summit & Awards taking place on June 2, 2016 from 9 am to 8 pm at the Oakville Conference Centre.

Michele Romanow, the tech-savvy “dragon” on Canada’s popular Dragon’s Den program, is the co-founder of Buytopia.ca - one of Canada's top daily deal sites, recently ranked #3 on Canada's list of fastest growing companies. Featured on the list of 100 Most Powerful Women in Canada, Forbes also chose Michele as the only Canadian to rank as one of the top 20 most disruptive "Millennials on a Mission." Michele’s background of experience is diverse, having built four businesses and completed an engineering degree and MBA from Queen’s University before her 30th birthday. Her passion lies in building tech and e-commerce businesses. Since establishing Buytopia.ca, she built her latest venture, SnapSaves, which is a mobile savings platform that was recently acquired by US couponing giant Groupon.

Michele will headline an exciting list of Summit keynote speakers representing global corporations, high-growth startups and research leaders such as Microsoft, Siemens, Geotab, Hatch, Javelin, Sheridan College and others, who will ignite the discussion about innovative technologies being made in Halton region. Attendees will learn how advanced manufacturing, digital technologies and the Internet of Things (IoT) are transforming the industrial landscape with smart applications designed to build connected communities and enhance our quality of life.
