Natalia Lishchyna becomes Ward 6's new Town Councillor

As of 9:20 PM on Monday July 13, 2015, the votes that have been unofficially counted indicate that Natalia Lishchyna will become the new Town Councillor for Ward 6. She will be taking over the seat left vacant after Max Khan passed away suddenly. The official announcement will be issued by the Town of Oakville's clerk later this week.

Natalia stated on facebook at 8:58 PM,  "I want to say a huge thank you to all of the voters of Ward 6, my volunteers, friends and family. This has been a very rigorous campaign and  it proves that hard work pays off. Thanks to my fellow candidates, particularly Dr. Mansoor Khan who was a gentleman and a class act through out the campaign - his brother Max would be proud."

A total of 21.64% voters came out to vote.

Natalia was supported by several town councillors, but most prominently by Town and Regional Councillor Jeff Knoll who stated that Natalia is the,  "hardest working candidate - she knocked on more doors and delivered a positive message. How we make things better resonated with the voters."

On Monday, July 20, 2015 at 6:45 PM, which will be just prior to an Oakville Town Council Meeting is when Natalia will installed as the town councillor of Ward 6, and will be working closely with Tom Adams who is the Regional Town Councillor for Ward 6.

Asked what she'll be doing this coming week, she reports that she has been asked to be the doctor for the men's Pan Am soccer team starting on Wednesday, July 15th.
