Halton Region marks Paramedic Services Week, May 24 to 30, with a ribbon cutting ceremony to officially open the new, state-of-the-art Oakville Paramedic Services Station 14 at 3019 Pine Glen Road at Bronte Road.

Resident safety and emergency response remains a top priority in Halton Region. It is important for people to have access to paramedic services when they are most needed. This new, modern station is the result of our continued dedication to improving health infrastructure for the benefit of both paramedics and Halton families.

The new $2.5 million, 6,094 sq.ft. station was designed by Raimondo and Associates Architects Inc. and delivered on budget in under a year by DeFaveri Group Contracting Inc.

Features of the new facility include:

  1. four ambulance bays and two ambulances;
  2. energy efficient lighting systems (LED light fixtures, occupancy motion sensors and effective use of natural light);
  3. an advanced exhaust detection and extraction system for maintaining air quality;
  4. four-fold ambulance bay doors which activate the extraction system when opened;
  5. efficient plumbing systems (water saving faucets, showers and toilet fixtures);
  6. a traffic light control system for the Pine Glen/Bronte Road intersection; and
  7. designated accessible parking, wheelchair access ramps, automatic door openers, accessible washrooms and change room lockers.

“This new Paramedic Services station will “ensure that our community continues to receive exceptional paramedic services in a safe and timely manner.” Chief of Paramedic Services Greg Sage, told the crowd and dignitaries who attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony

Halton Region’s Paramedic Services operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Halton paramedics provide pre-hospital care to residents in Burlington, Halton Hills, Milton and Oakville. The service is comprised of over 220 full and part-time paramedics with a fleet of 34 emergency response vehicles and responds to over 50,000 calls for service annually.
