Oakville Attempted Carjacker Charged

The attempted carjacker from Midnight Madness on July 14, 2017 that took place in Downtown Oakville was charged on August 3, 2017 in Milton. Thirty-nine year old David Millar from Milton was the man charged with that offence.

Just before midnight police responded to a call for a possible impaired driver on Campbellville Road in Milton. Police located a brand new 2017 Lincoln MKC and investigated the driver for impaired driving.

The investigation revealed that earlier in the evening, the driver of the MKC had stolen several sets of keys from a Brampton Ford Dealership along with the 2017 Lincoln MKC. Affixed to the Lincoln MKC were stolen licence plates. Several other keys to other new vehicles were also located within the Lincoln. The stolen property was returned and the driver was arrested and held for a bail hearing.

The attempted carjacker was also investigated for his to attempt to car jack in Oakville, near the intersection of Navy Street and Robinson Street on July 14, 2017. He was alleged to have approached a citizen sitting in his vehicle, threatened physical harm and then attempted to take the citizen's car. Fortunately, the citizen refused to surrender the vehicle and was unharmed. This individual then fled the scene.

The attempted carjacker, David MILLAR (39) of Brampton is charged with:

  1. Disqualified Driving x 2 counts
  2. Impaired Care and Control
  3. Refuse to Provide Sample
  4. Theft of Motor Vehicle
  5. Theft Under $5000
  6. Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5000
  7. Robbery
  8. Utter Threats
