The Halton Regional Police Service 2 District Street Crime Unit initiated an investigation in January 2018 involving the suspected drug trafficking of large amounts of marihuana.
On Thursday, February 15, 2018, the Street Crime Unit arrested a male and a female who were each found to be in possession of large quantities of marihuana. A search warrant was subsequently executed at an Oakville residence on February 16, 2018.
As a result of this investigation, police seized the following:
- 75 kilograms of marihuana
- $40,000 cash
- a 2017 GMC Sierra
- a 2014 Nissan Rogue
The estimate value of the marihuana seized is $330,000
Maziar VESALPOUR (32) and Emily FORRIETER (27), both of Oakville, have been charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking. Vesalpour and Forrieter have been held in custody pending a bail hearing.
