Voting day arrived in Ward 2, to overcast skies, and early morning rain. A total of 11 candidates were on the slate for Monday, April 11, 2016.
A total of 3,358 voters came out to vote which is 23.96 percentage of the total eligible voters. Ward 2 has 14,016 eligible voters. Ward 2 is bounded by the QEW to the north, Lake Ontario to the south, 16 Mile Creek to the east and 3rd Line to the west. It is home to Kerr Village, with industrial and commercial businesses situated along and north of Speers Road. Tim Horton's head office calls Ward 2 home.
The newly elected town councillor is Ray Chisholm who received 778 which is 23.17 percent of the total votes counted. At the time of this post, the count is unofficial. Mr. Chisholm's closest competitor was Hart Jansson who received 616 votes.
