Oakville Hydro’s Stayin’ Alive Safety program has been honoured with the Canadian Occupational Safety 2017 Silver Award in the Utilities and Electrical category of Canada’s Safest Employers (CSE). The CSE awards recognize companies across Canada for their outstanding accomplishments in promoting health and safety to their workers through the elements of employee training, incident investigations, innovative initiatives and more.

“Safety is our top priority and this award honours the dedication that each employee exhibits every day to make that priority a reality,” said Rob Lister, President and CEO at Oakville Hydro. “We are extremely proud to receive this award.”

This award is Oakville Hydro’s sixth health and safety accolade, previously capturing four Infrastructure Health and Safety Association President’s Award and the inaugural David Ellis Award from MySafeWork.

“The real award for us is having our employees return home safe every day,” said Mike Brown, Chief Operating Officer at Oakville Hydro. “These awards recognize our efforts and it’s great to have the confirmation that the continuous improvements to our industry-leading Health and Safety programs have created a work culture where safety takes precedence.”
