Oakville is Open for Business

Beginning October 15, 2013, Oakville residents and members of the business community can go online atwww.oabe.ca and nominate a business for a prestigious 19th Annual Oakville Award for Business Excellence (OABE). Nominations close November 15, 2013 at 4 pm. The awards are presented by the Oakville Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Rotary Club of Oakville West.

The Oakville Awards for Business Excellence is an annual event to acknowledge and recognize remarkable entrepreneurs and businesses within the Oakville community. Proceeds of the event support the Rotary Club of Oakville West youth initiatives.

“The Oakville Awards for Business Excellence provides a great opportunity to recognize a customer, supplier or business associate,” says Orla Johnston, chair of the Oakville Chamber of Commerce.

“If you’ve had a consistently great experience with a local business, nominate them so we can ensure our local businesses get the credit they deserve,” notes Susan Sheppard, president of the Rotary Club of Oakville West.

19th Annual OABE award categories include:

  • Oakville’s Small Business of the Year
  • Oakville’s Medium Business of the Year
  • Oakville’s Large Business of the Year
  • Oakville’s Franchisee of the Year
  • Oakville’s Professional Services Provider of the Year
  • Oakville’s Restaurateur of the Year
  • Oakville’s Entrepreneur of the Year
  • Oakville’s Community Builder of the Year
  • Oakville’s Employer of the Year
  • Oakville’s Business Icon of the Year

Criteria for eligibility can be found at www.oabe.ca. Winners will be announced at a gala event on March 27, 2014 at the Oakville Conference Centre.
