Oakville Kitchen Designers Principal faces 12 charges of fraud

On Friday, November 24, 2017, Halton Regional Police Service announced that they have laid charges in regards to Oakville Kitchen Designers frauds.

Following a lengthy investigation spanning several months the Halton Police Services Fraud Bureau have laid 12 charges of Fraud over $5000 against John Anthony VANDERKOLK a 42 year old man from Oakville.

It is alleged that Mr. Vanderkolk was the principal behind "Oakville Kitchen Designers", a business in the kitchen renovation business. It is alleged that in 2016 and 2017 he was contracted by 11 clients for kitchen renovations; however, after these clients provided significant deposits the specified renovations were not substantially competed. Several of the victims were left with a partially renovated kitchen, or a kitchen that had cabinets and sinks removed, at which point the work ceased.

The 12th count of fraud deals with a transaction with a bank.

In total, the loss suffered by the victims and the bank is approximately $400,000.
