Oakville personal support worker charged with theft

The Halton Regional Police Service (HRPS) 2 District Criminal Investigations Bureau has arrested a Personal Support Worker (PSW) in connection with the theft of money from an elderly male from Oakville.

Halton Regional Police Services received a complaint from the victim's family after irregularities in cash withdrawals from the victim's bank account. An investigation confirmed that the accused was repeatedly stealing cash from the victim's wallet.

At the time of the thefts, the victim was an elderly client of the Personal Support Worker.

On May 1, 2018, the Halton Regional Police Service arrested a 35-year-old Oakville resident and charged them with two counts of Theft Under $5,000.
