Oakville theft spree solved

On January 19, 2019, members of the Halton Regional Police #2 District Criminal Investigations Bureau concluded an investigation involving a male who was responsible for an Oakville theft spree.

The thefts dated back to October 2018.

The police are aware of 9 different incidents.

Offices and businesses in Oakville were targeted over the course of the crime spree. The male would target small items such as:

  1. cash boxes
  2. cell phones
  3. purses
  4. wallets
  5. credit cards

On many occasions, the credit cards taken from wallets and purses were later used to complete several fraudulent transactions across the Greater Toronto Area.

Charged and arrested:

A 32 year old man from Mississauga:

  1. 4 counts of Theft Under $5000.00
  2. 6 counts of Fraud Under $5000.00
  3. 6 counts of Unauthorized Use of Credit Card
  4. 7 counts of Fail to Comply with Probation
