On January 19, 2019, members of the Halton Regional Police #2 District Criminal Investigations Bureau concluded an investigation involving a male who was responsible for an Oakville theft spree.
The thefts dated back to October 2018.
The police are aware of 9 different incidents.
Offices and businesses in Oakville were targeted over the course of the crime spree. The male would target small items such as:
- cash boxes
- cell phones
- purses
- wallets
- credit cards
On many occasions, the credit cards taken from wallets and purses were later used to complete several fraudulent transactions across the Greater Toronto Area.
Charged and arrested:
A 32 year old man from Mississauga:
- 4 counts of Theft Under $5000.00
- 6 counts of Fraud Under $5000.00
- 6 counts of Unauthorized Use of Credit Card
- 7 counts of Fail to Comply with Probation
