Last night, Oakville Town Council declared the seat of former Ward 6 Town Councillor Max Khan vacant and its intention to fill the vacancy through a by-election on July 13, 2015. Councillor Khan passed away suddenly on March 29, 2015.
After considering a report prepared by staff outlining proposed dates and details of a by-election, Council passed a resolution, put forward by Councillor Tom Adams, to hold a by-election on July 13, 2015.
The key dates for the 2015 Ward 6 Oakville By-Election include:
Tuesday, April 28, 2015 — Nomination period begins
Friday, May 29, 2015 — Nomination Day
Monday, July 13, 2015 — Voting Day
Nomination forms can now be filed in the Clerk’s department at Town Hall until May 29, 2015.
