When you meet Cheryle you know you’ve met a determined woman, who also knows how to get the job done with a smile. This is our first time meeting, and she has already provided me with lots of details.

Cheryle was born in Toronto, and after a tragic house fire that took both her parents she moved in with her grandparents in West Oakville off Queen Mary Drive. She lived with them until she graduated from Perdue High School.

She really enjoyed High School, and was actively involved in many extra curricular activities. A particular area of interest for her was dance. The ability to be a top dancer opened many doors for her including paying for her education at both Sheridan College where she received her Liberal Arts Certificate, and McMaster University.

After University she became a corrections officer at Sylaps Correctional Facility for Youth on Iroquois Shore. It lasted just 2 weeks, at which point she quickly realized it was not for her. She returned to Sheridan and became a law clerk, and continues to work as a law clerk to this day.

Along with her educational accomplishments, she was also a cheerleader for the Toronto Argonauts, and made it few times onto page 3 as a sunshine girl for the Toronto Sun.

She now lives with her husband who is a Toronto Fire Chief, and two children in the Kerr Village area of Oakville.

“We bought here, because we have so much support in the neighbourhood with grandparents, uncle and cousins close by, along with a large group of close friends,” commented Cheryle.

When asked why she wants to be the town councillor for Ward 2, Cheryle responded, “I really love this town, and it’s people."
