Pellet Gun used to shoot vehicles: Oakville Man Arrested

On Sunday, June 16, 2019, at 10:30 pm, the Halton Regional Police Service attended a residence near Fourth Line and Upper Middle Road West (Glen Abbey) in Oakville, in relation to a mischief investigation about the use of a pellet gun.

Officers were following up on an incident involving a male alleged to have shot his neighbours' vehicles with a pellet gun.

Upon arrival, officers observed the suspect leaving his residence in a vehicle.  Officers attempted to stop the vehicle however the suspect refused to stop resulting in a pursuit.

The Halton Regional Police pursued the suspect from Oakville to Mississauga.  The pursuit was terminated when an alerted municipal public transit bus driver blocked the vehicle's path at the intersection of Lakeshore Road and Hurontario Street (Port Credit) in Mississauga.

A search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of a loaded CO2 powered pellet gun and a 7" knife.  The suspect was briefly taken to hospital for minor injuries and later transported to the Oakville police station where he was held in custody pending a bail hearing.

A 33 year-old Oakville man was charged with:

Two counts of mischief under $5,000

Flight from police

Assault with intent to resist arrest

Two counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
