Update: Police respond to a Shooting in North Oakville

Further to the original release, Halton Regional Police Service Homicide Detectives have confirmed the identity of the victim of the shooting as Dean Costanza (46) of Oakville. Mr. Costanza was known to police and it is believed this was a targeted shooting.

On behalf of the victim's family, the Halton Regional Police Service is requesting the family be afforded privacy and discretion during this very difficult time.

On Sunday, December 3, 2017, shortly after 7:00pm Halton Regional Police responded to a 911 call reporting shooting or gun shots in area of North Park Blvd and Sawmill Road, in Oakville.

This is north and west of 6th Line and Dundas. Munn's Church is the closest landmark.

Upon arrival, emergency services located a lone deceased male in a vehicle.

The male victim has not been identified at this time.

Police are asking anyone in the area of North Park Blvd and Sawmill Road, who have CCTV/surveillance cameras and may have information to provide to homicide investigators, to please contact the Halton Regional Police Tip Line.

The Homicide Bureau has taken charge of the shooting investigation and anyone with information is asked to call the Halton Regional Police Homicide Tip Line at 905-825-4776.
