Public input sought in naming new Oakville school

The Halton District School Board encourages public input in the naming of its new elementary school in Oakville. The schools is currently under construction and scheduled to open in September 2015. The Oakville school is north of Dundas St. and east Neyagawa Blvd at 385 Sixteen Mile Drive.

Name suggestion forms and ballot boxes will be placed in neighbourhood schools and public libraries. Suggestions will be accepted until February 6, 2015. It is anticipated Halton District School Board trustees will select names for the new schools at a Board meeting this spring. School boundary reviews are currently underway for both schools to determine the boundaries and programs offered.

  • River Oaks Public School (2173 Munn’s Ave.)
  • Montclair Public School (1285 Montclair Dr.)
  • White Oaks Secondary School (South Campus 1330 Montclair Dr.)
  • White Oaks Branch Library (1070 McCraney St. East~)
