The Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation (OSSTF) has advised the Halton District School Board that it will commence a job sanction in the form of a partial withdrawal of service effective Thursday, May 21 at 12:01am.

All secondary schools will be open with school bus transportation operating as usual. Further it has been confirmed that teachers will conduct all classes and will continue voluntary services (commencement, proms, and extra-curricular activities).

At this time we have been informed by OSSTF that the work-to-rule will include the following actions by secondary teachers:

  • Report only marks on report cards (no comments, no learning skills)
  • Picketing at lunch
  • Wearing of OSSTF colours, or arm bands etc.
  • No attendance at staff/department/school meetings
  • No input provided on credit recovery referrals or credit analysis forms for end-of-semester student promotion meetings.
  • Other actions that will impact school and board administration

Local bargaining is continuing and the Halton District School Board remains committed to continuing to talk and bargain in good faith at the local level in order to reach a local agreement.

The Halton District School Board will communicate any new information to families as soon as possible by email, on the HDSB and school websites, and through social media.
