Update: Sexual Assault Suspect Sought in Oakville

The Halton Regional Police child abuse and sexual assault bureau have provided an update on the sexual assault that took place in West Oakville on Wednesday, 2017.

As a result of the ongoing investigation, Halton Regional Police Child Abuse and Sexual Assault Unit Detectives are seeking to identify the driver of a vehicle observed parked in the area of Warminster Drive south of Bridge Road, on Wednesday, August 2nd, 2017 between 2:45pm and 6:00pm.

The vehicle is described as a black, small, sporty, 4 door sport utility vehicle. The vehicle was observed on west side of Warminster Drive, on the gravel shoulder, south of Bridge Road at Brook Valley Park. The vehicle may have had its hazard lights on while parked.

​The Halton Regional Police Service Child Abuse and Sexual Assault Bureau are investigating a reported sexual assault which occurred in Oakville on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 in West Oakville.

Between the hours of 3:10pm and 4:00pm, a teenage female was walking on the sidewalk of Warminster Drive, south of Bridge Road at Brook Valley Park when she was approached and accosted by an unknown male. She was subsequently forced into a parked vehicle in the immediate area, believed to be on the west side of Warminster Drive, and sexually assaulted. After the attack she was left on the roadway. The vehicle was last seen travelling southbound on Warminster Drive.

No suspect or vehicle information is currently available. Additionally, no similar incidents have been reported to Halton Regional Police Service to date.

Members of the Public are reminded to be vigilant and to report any suspicious activity to Halton Regional Police immediately.
