Yes, it is true we are about to get a dump of snow. After this rather mild winter in Oakville, it is hard to complain about a snow fall warning, even if it is early spring. It sure beats a tornado warning, which is something that appears to regularly happen in the mid-US this year.
Here is Environment Canada's Snow Fall Warning issued at 4:03 PM on Sunday, April 3, 2016 for Oakville, Ontario:
Snowfall, with total amounts of 15 to 20 cm is expected.
Snow at times heavy is spreading into the region this afternoon and will continue tonight before tapering off early Monday morning. Gusty winds may also produce some local blowing snow.
Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.
So be prepared for a slower than usual commute. If you are travelling this evening and/or into tomorrow morning, you'll want to add some time for difficult driving conditions. Also, since we all thought that winter weather had left us, remember to keep appropriate clothing available. You don't want to get stuck in snow and have to walk somewhere in dress shoes.
The Town of Oakville does have a Snow Plow Tracker, which is something that will at least show you what has been plowed. Also noted that the town's snow plows have salted most of the roads.
