A snowfall warning has been issued by Environment Canada for Oakville. The criteria for a snowfall warning is when 15 cm's or more snow is expected to fall in a 12 hour period.
Scattered snowfall is expected to start falling this evening with the heaviest accumulation happening overnight until late morning/early afternoon on Wednesday February 5, 2015. Plus 20 cm of snow is predicted.
The wind will be coming out of the East during tonight at 25 km/h with gusts reaching 53 km/h. By tomorrow morning the wind will have changed to North-East and increased to 40 km/h with gusts up to 60 km/h. Easterly winds tend to blanket Oakville with additional snowfall due to a storm's ability to accumulate even more moisture off Lake Ontario.
Tomorrow morning's commute will be difficult to say the least. Heavy snowfall combined with strong winds will create treacherous driving conditions. School Boards will be making their decisions on school closures by 6:00 AM.

Please do not call 911 unless it is a dire emergency. EMS will be busy enough tomorrow with this amount of snowfall.
