Sunglass Hut in Hudson Bay Robbed: Suspect Charged

On Monday, December 18, 2017, shortly before 9:00pm, Halton Regional Police responded to the report of a robbery at the Sunglass Hut located within the Hudson’s Bay store  in Oakville Place at 240 Leighland Ave, Oakville. The suspect attempted to steal four pairs of sunglasses. He also engaged in a physical altercation with staff members prior to fleeing on foot. No staff members were injured.

On Wednesday,January 16, 2018, Halton Regional Police located and arrested the suspect. The Police charged the suspect, James CROWE a 39 year old man from Oakville, with one count of robbery.

The police learned after further investigation that James CROWE was the person responsible for two additional outstanding occurrences. CROWE was subsequently charged with:

  1. Fraudulent Use of Credit Card (3 counts)
  2. Theft Under $5000.00
  3. Escape Lawful Custody
