Suspect Arrested in Connection with a Robbery on an Oakville Transit Bus

The Halton Regional Police Service has arrested one male suspect in connection with a robbery on an Oakville Transit bus.

Just after 5:00 p.m. on June 12, 2018, a male passenger riding an Oakville Transit bus (travelling westbound on Lakeshore Boulevard near Bronte Road) pointed a loaded pellet gun at another passenger and demanded money.

A third passenger alerted the bus driver, who then contacted police. Halton Regional Police Service officers immediately responded to the area and located the suspect on the bus. The male was arrested without incident.

A search of the suspect revealed a CO2 powered pellet gun, crack cocaine, Xanax, and marihuana.

No passengers were injured during this incident.

An 18 year old man of Oakville has been charged with:

  1. Robbery with a firearm
  2. Carry a concealed weapon
  3. Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  4. Possession of a controlled substance - Marihuana (under 30 grams)
  5. Possession of a controlled substance - Cocaine
  6. Breach of youth probation
  7. Three counts of breach of recognizance

He was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
