Upper Middle Road Collision at 403 Ramp closes intersection

On Thursday, October 5, 2017, Halton Regional Police responded to an Upper Middle Road collision that took place at the Hamilton bound Highway 403 exit ramp. The collision resulted in a personal injury.

At approximately 8:15 pm, a 70-year-old Mississauga man was driving a Ford F-150 eastbound on Upper Middle Road and attempted to make a U-turn at the intersection with the 403 exit ramp. At that time a 42-year-old woman was driving an Audi Q5 westbound on Upper Middle Road and the two vehicles collided within the intersection.

While the driver of the pick-up truck was being attended to by first responders, the male went into medical distress and was transported to Hamilton General Hospital's Trauma Unit. The Mississauga man's condition has since been upgraded to stable condition.

The driver of the westbound Audi received minor injuries and did not require to be transported to hospital.

Due to the serious nature of the medical distress, the Halton Regional Police Service Collision Reconstruction Unit were dispatched to the collision to collect the scene evidence. Upper Middle Road and the 403 south bound ramp was closed to traffic in both directions for approximately 3 hours during the scene investigation.
