Violent Robbery of an Oakville Home Depot

On March 31, 2019, members of the Halton Regional Police Service Two District Criminal Investigations Bureau concluded an investigation involving into numerous theft and robbery related offences dating back to January 2019.

Home Depot department stores in Oakville and Burlington were targeted. Various high end power tools and barbeques were stolen. During one of the incidents, the suspect wielded a knife on a concerned employee attempting to prevent a theft.

Oakville dates and locations:

  1. January 6, 2019 (Bristol Circle)
  2. January 8, 2019 (Bristol Circle)
  3. March 21, 2019 (South Service Rd)

Charged and arrested:

A 46 year-old from Hamilton:

  • Robbery with violence
  • Utter threats
  • Fail to comply with recognizance
  • Breach of probation order (2 counts)
  • Dangerous drive
  • Resist arrest
  • Assault police
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000
  • Obstruct police
  • Theft under $5000 (4 counts)

The Hamilton man was held for a bail.
