Ward 6 are you ready to vote? Voter Locations, Voter Eligibility, Voter Identification, Ward 6 Candidates

The Town of Oakville’s Ward 6 By-Election will take place next Monday – July 13, 2015. So get ready to vote for  Oakville's next Ward 6 town councillor.

Voting Locations

The polling/voting locations open at 10:00 AM and will close at 8:00 PM. The town’s voting locations are as follows:

  1. Holy Family Elementary School
  2. 1420 Grosvenor Street
  3. Iroquois Ridge Community Centre
  4. 1051 Glenashton Drive
  5. Joshua Creek Public School
  6. 1450 Arrowhead Road
  7. Mary Mother of God Parish
  8. 2745 North Ridge Trail
  9. Oakville Town Hall
  10. 1225 Trafalgar Road

You can vote in the Ward 6 municipal by-election if you are:

* a Canadian citizen,

* at least 18 years old, and

* a resident in Ward 6 in the Town of Oakville, or

* a non-resident owner or tenant of land in Ward 6, or their spouse

Voter cards were mailed out in June. Please bring your voter card and proper identification with you to vote. Acceptable forms of identification include:

* Driver’s licence

* Ontario photo card

* Current utility bill

* Current credit card statement or bank statement

* Current insurance policy

All voting locations are physically accessible. Town Hall will also have accessible voting equipment.

Oakville Chamber of Commerce's Ward 6 Questionnaire

After the Oakville Chamber of Commerce's All Candidates Meeting, a questionnaire was sent to each of the 10 candidates. All the candidates responded. The following questions were asked:

  4. If elected Councillor what are your top initiatives that you would like to implement while on Council?
  5. What in your opinion are the environmental issues in Oakville and how would you address them?
  6. Will you support completing another crossing of the QEW between Trafalgar and Ford drive before year 2025? What do you view as the most important infrastructure priorities for Ward 6?
  7. How would you address irresponsible dog owners?
  8. How would you enforce Town policies at public pools?
  9. Are you satisfied with the level of park maintenance?
  10. Some residents have experienced property damage from snow clearing. Please comment.
  11. Do you believe that communication can be improved between the Town and residents regarding growth and development in Ward 6? If so, how?
  12. What do you view as the major social issues in Oakville and how would you address them?
