There is a saying about the month of March. If it comes in like a Lion, it will leave like a lamb. Well, it appears that according to Environment Canada, we are about to get a good old fashion winter storm. So bundle up your children, and prepare for a snowy day and evening.

Also as the storm hits, try to keep your driving to a minimum, so that emergency vehicles can get through the evening quickly, and that you aren't one of the people that they are digging out of ditch.

Here is Environment Canada's Winter Storm Warning for Oakville that was issued at 4:43 AM on March 1, 2016:

Hazardous winter conditions are expected.

Snow, heavy at times, and blowing snow is expected . The snow will begin later this morning and intensify into the evening with the heaviest amounts of snow forecast for tonight.

Total snowfall amounts of 15 to 25 cm are likely by Wednesday morning.

Strong northeasterly winds will also produce blowing snow especially in exposed areas due to gusts of 70 kilometres per hour.

Consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve. Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations. Visibility will be suddenly reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow. There may be a significant impact on rush hour traffic in urban areas.
