Woman charged after abusing a dog in Bronte

The Halton Regional Police responded to a call on the evening of Monday, February 5th, 2018 at approximately 6:00 PM regarding the abuse of a dog in Bronte Village.

Several citizens in the area of Lakeshore Road West/Nelson Street in Oakville observed an adult female forcefully kicking a white boxer type dog in the chest and stomach. The dog was on a leash, and not acting aggressively.

Citizens intervened on behalf of the dog. The suspect punched one of the good Samaritans in the face with a closed fist. After investigating the incident the female was arrested and charged by the Halton Regional Police.

Stephanie Moore (50 years old) of Oakville was was charged with:

  1. Assault - criminal offence
  2. Causing Unnecessary Suffering to an Animal,
  3. Being Intoxicated in a Public Place - Provincial offense

Her dog was transferred into the care of a relative.

Stephanie Moore was released from custody after being charged.
