A wonderful season opening concert weekend devoted to Celtic inspired classical masterpieces.

Max Bruch and Felix Mendelssohn’s love affair with Scotland are vividly portrayed in Bruch’s lush and beautiful “Scottish Fantasy” for violin and orchestra and Mendelssohn’s romantically charged Scottish Symphony.

Quebec superstar violinist Marc Djokic is the featured soloist as the Oakville Symphony opens its outstanding 52nd season.

The Young Novelists

Date: Friday, November 8th at 8 PM

Written by bandmates Graydon James and Laura Spink, their new album, In City & Country, features a collection of songs inspired by an array of Canadian towns. Highlighting stories from both urban and rural locales, the songs are based on a combination of historical research and personal experience, and ultimately show the similarities and differences between both types of places.

In Miracle on 34th Street – The Play, Kris Kringle, an old man in a retirement home, gets a job working as Santa for Macy’s. Kris unleashes waves of good will with Macy’s customers and the commercial world of New York City by referring parents to other stores to find exactly the toy their child has asked for. Deemed dangerous and deluded by Macy‘s vocational counselor, Kris is in the court system defending who he is – the true Santa!
