In celebration of Canada Day, I challenged the three local BIA’s to participate in the 11th Annual Canada Day Flag Challenge. The Downtown BIA took the title for the first time, just edging out challengers Bronte Village BIA and Kerr Street BIA.

This was a great opportunity for Oakville businesses to show how much we appreciate this great nation we call home. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the participants throughout the town for their support of the Canada Flag Challenge over the years. This year all three BIA’s were neck and neck to claim the title, demonstrating great local spirit from our business communities.

The Canadian Flags were made available at the Bronte Village BIA, Kerr Street BIA and Downtown Oakville BIA offices for merchants to display in their windows.

This year the winning BIA was awarded an Ontario flag along with a lunch at the Ontario Legislature Dining Room for one of their participating businesses. The selected business was Marci -Accessories on the Avenue.
