On Tuesday February 9, 2016 the United Way of Oakville celebrated the many volunteers who make it possible for the agency to support 31 non-profits who in turn support 31,000 Oakville residents. GE Water & Process Technologies won the 2015 Spirit Award for Campaign of the Year at United Way Oakville’s Community Celebration Night. The GE Water & Process Technologies campaign raised $102,233 for United Way.

GE was the first company to put on the Youth Mental Health initiative in the workplace in conjunction with The Canadian Mental Health Association and ROCK. This “Lunch N Learn” educated staff about youth mental health issues and opened their yes to the hidden problems many teens face in our town.

“The GE Water & Process Technologies campaign consists of so many different elements that help make it successful.” commented Rob Lister, 2015 United Way Oakville Campaign Chair and President & CEO of Oakville Enterprises Corporation. “It all stems from their employee’s resolve to make the world around them a better place. I am overwhelmed by the increase in leadership level donors, whose generosity has been heroic.”

Henk Koops and Eric Correia put a big emphasis on leadership giving and increased leadership donations by more than $20,000 over last year.
