Make It Happen celebrates women entrepreneurs on International Women's Day

The Halton Region Small Business Centre, in partnership with the Ontario Ministry of Economic Development, Employment and Infrastructure, will host their annual business networking event for women entrepreneurs on Wednesday, March 11, 2015.  The event is organized in celebration of International Women’s Day, the theme of this year’s event is Make It Happen.

Halton Region has a long history of supporting the entrepreneurial culture within the region and fostering its growth through our Small Business Centre. Through our partnership with the provincial government, this event will offer attendees the opportunity to learn from industry leaders and connect with other local, self-employed women.

Participants will have the opportunity to listen to two inspiring keynote speakers including entrepreneur, award-winning facilitator and author Kate Jones of Kate Jones & Associates and Carol Schulte, professional speaker and creator of the Spark your G.E.N.I.U.S.™ Group Coaching Program. The Make It Happen event will also include two “local spotlight” success stories and a chance to network with other entrepreneurs.

According to Statistics Canada's self-employment historical summary tables, there were almost one million self-employed women in Canada in 2014. Halton Region’s Small Business Centre aims to support local self-employed women by promoting Halton’s vibrant entrepreneurial community, offering a variety of programs and services, as well as networking opportunities offered at events such as Make It Happen.

The event will be held at the OE Banquet Hall & Conference Centre, 2245 Speers Road, Oakville, from 7:45 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Breakfast is included.The registration fee is $30.00. To register or learn more about the event, dial 311 or visit halton.ca/businesswomen
