Oakville Real Estate Market: Moderate Gains for June 2013

According to figures released today by The Oakville, Milton and District Real Estate Board (OMDREB), the number of sales edged up 0.6 percent in June 2013 compared to the same period in 2012. Monthly sales totaled 802 compared to 797 in June 2012. The number of year-to-date sales decreased by 3.7 percent.

“The summer is traditionally a busy time of year for our members and the numbers released today reflect the continued competitive nature of the market this year,” said Aziz Kanjee, 2013 President of OMDREB. “The number of overall sales since 2012 has decreased, however, median sale prices in Milton and Oakville both increased in the month of June.”

The dollar volume of all sales processed through the OMDREB MLS® system increased in June 2013 to $415,298,898 from $392,543,785 in June 2012– up 5.8 percent. The dollar volume of sales year to date slightly increased by 0.6 percent year over year from 2012 to 2013.

Oakville’s median sale price for the month of June was $652,000, an increase of 8.7 percent compared to June 2012.
