The Halton Regional Police Service has charged a Willow Beach Man following an investigation into a jewelry theft from a residence in the Town of Oakville.

On May 22, 2019, the victim was hosting an open house at a residence exclusively for realtors only in the anticipation of selling the house.  The suspect had learned of the open through the internet and attended the residence.

The realtor imposter attended the residence at the same time as the other realtors.  The victim assumed the suspect was a realtor as well and allowed him entry.  Once inside the suspect went upstairs to the master bedroom and stole approximately $30,000 worth of jewellery.  The suspect left the residence after being questioned by the victim.

After the suspect left the residence the victim went back to the master bedroom and discovered the jewellery had been stolen.

A 29 year-old man of Willow Beach has been charged with;

  1. Unlawfully in a Dwelling
  2. Theft Over $5000

Halton Regional Police believe there may be other occurrences involving the realtor imposter and are asking anyone with information regarding similar incidents to contact Detective Constable Ross Amore of the 2 District Criminal Investigation Bureau at 905-825-4747, ext. 2246.
